Key Programming BATTLE | Smart PRO vs. AutoProPAD G2 Turbo On A 2018 Ford F-150!

Welcome back to another key programming battle between SmartPro and AutoProPAD G2 Turbo to the 2018 Ford F-150. Although we call it a key programming battle, what I want to show you is a comparison with what you can expect when you buy the machines and how they program differently. I've duplicated a couple of keys. I did one on the H128, Ilco 128 bit key, and the other one is the Ilco aftermarket replacement lookalikes, the remote head key. So let me go ahead and get to the programming.

PROGRAMMING WITH AUTOPROPAD G2 TURBO

Get the AutoProPAD G2 Turbo here connected to the OBD 2 port; however, it will be connected via Bluetooth.

Go to the app and hit Immobilizer, then click agree.

Look for Ford USA.

In the menu, you'll have different options. You can go By Vehicle, By type, Read the Keyless Enter Code, and Pincode Calculate. Now, I personally really like going By Vehicle. However, it's good to know By Type as well. Let's go By Vehicle.

Select Immobilizer. Look for F-150 and then 2017-2020 since the vehicle is 2018.

Go for add a key. A notification saying 'Insert a new key to the program and switch the ignition on.' will pop up, do the instruction using the remote key, then press Yes. Wait for the process. Once it is done, 'Switch ignition "off" and switch ignition to "on" position.' will appear, do the instruction, then click OK.

As it loads, there will be a door lock cycle. Programming success will pop; hit OK.

After each successful programming, always try your newly programmed keys. Look at any indicators on the dash, push the remote and compare it to the performance of the original key.

PROGRAMMING WITH THE SMARTPRO

Start by connecting the SmartPRO to the OBD 2 port, and we're ready to get programming.

Proceed to Vehicle Selection, go to Ford, then go to the F-150 Blade option. For those of you who don't know, Blade means that there's actual Keyblade.

Hit connect to the immobiliser. Once again, go to the MYKEYS Pro app to look at all of this information. They have the 128-bit keys, the picture of the OBD 2 port and one of the keys, some part numbers.

Switch ignition on, so take the new key that we want to program and put it into the ignition to turn it on. Hit OK.

Look and hit add keys, then hit the play button in the bottom left. Read the instruction that will appear, click Yes if the new key is in and into the on position to get programmed.

Please wait for a while since it is bypassing the pin. Once it is done, Security access granted will appear we'll hit OK. Keys programmed: 3. Switch ignition off, hit OK. Switch ignition on with the key to be programmed, then hit OK. Key programmed successfully. Keys programmed: 4, and we're good to go.

That's a SmartPRO! Once again, it was very painless. Pushed a few buttons to walk you through the steps. Very interesting.

Both the AutoProPad G2 Turbo, and the SmartPRO got the job done. I would love to know what your star rating is on these two programmers in the comments below. Thank you, and we'll see you next time.
