Key Programming | 2019 Honda Fit with the SMART PRO!

Key programming a 2019 Honda Fit starts with getting the right replacement. We're gonna add a remote head key, so I have duplicated this remote head key. With the SmartPRO Key Programmer let's go and program that additional key.

To begin the programming, we have the Smart PRO, which is connected to the OBD2 port.

Smart Pro by Advanced Diagnostics

When you have everything set up, the first step is to go to Menu and Select the Manufacturer as you can see below, and select 'Honda.' Then we will select the Fit 2015 to 2019 Blade.

Manufacturer selection in Smart Pro

When you have completed the selection, put the key into the ignition. The Smart PRO device should display a connection message like the one below. Click on Connect, Switch the Ignition on and click OK.

Proceed to ‘Program Keys’ and hit the play button on the bottom left. ‘Total Keys Required’ will appear, press how many keys you want to program. In this case, I just need 2. Switch Ignition off. Switch Ignition on with the same key. Switch the Ignition back off. Switch the ignition on with the next key within 20 seconds, and put the next key in. Switch it on, switch the ignition off, turn it back on with the same key. Wait 10 seconds, switch the ignition off, switch it back on with the same key. Is Immo light out? If it is, click Yes and the procedure is complete.

For each programming done, you should test out the keys and be sure to hear the locks cycle. Compare the function of your newly programmed keys with the original key to be sure that everything is still working. You can try to start your ignition and controls with the new programmed key to ensure it is working the same.

We're done! We have 2 remote keys programmed for this 2019 Honda Fit. We really like how the Smart PRO guides you through each step to make sure you have the right key at the right time. If you have any comments or questions about this procedure, let us know in the comments below!
