Key programming a 2018 Ford Focus starts with getting the right replacement. The vehicle accepts a remote headed key, but we're just going to add a H94 transponder key with the AutoProPAD Transponder Programmer.
To begin the programming, we have to connect the AutoProPAD to the OBD2 port.
When you have everything set up, the first step is to go to 'Select Manufacturer' as you can see below, and select 'U.S FORD.' Hit agree on the disclaimer, and wait for it to load the data.
When you have completed the selection, look at the AutoProPAD's website on the application list, if you didn’t get a ton of information that will tell you what type it is, you can go to ‘By vehicle.’ Select ‘USA Ford’, ‘Immobilizer’, ‘Focus’, and ‘2014.’
Click ‘Add Key’, read the instructions. Take the new key, put it in, turn it on, and l hit ‘Yes.’ Wait for the process and once done, switch ignition off and take it off. Wait for 10 seconds and insert the key. Switch ignition on, and hit ‘OK’ to continue. Number of keys will appear, just click ‘Yes.’ The AutoProPAD device will load and let you know that the key has been programmed successfully.
For each programming done, you should test out the keys' and be sure to hear the locks cycle. Compare the function of your newly programmed keys with the original key to be sure that everything is still working. You can try to start your ignition and controls with the new programmed key to ensure it is working the same.
And that's how you key program a 2018 Ford Focus using AutoProPAD. It's super nice although there wasn't much information on the application list.
