Long Reach Tool Sleeve
The AO42-SL is a protective sleeve designed for use with the AO42 “Long Reach Tool” to help safely perform across-the-car openings. While it pairs well with the AO42 tool, it can also be used with other tools to safeguard the glass. This sleeve acts as a buffer between the metal tool and the window glass, reducing direct contact and preventing scratches on the glass edge that can occur with across-the-car tools.
The AO42-SL also helps protect against glass damage like shattering or splintering, especially in extreme temperatures that can make glass more brittle.
Instructions for Use:
1. Insert a wedge into the upper rear edge of the passenger window to spread it outward about 1/4".
2. Place the AO42-SL sleeve between the edge of the glass and the weatherstripping, with the flaps extending outside the opening.
3. Fold the flaps of the sleeve around the window edge and weatherstripping to create an entry point for the AO42 tool.
4. Carefully feed the AO42 “Long Reach Tool” through the AO42-SL sleeve and into the vehicle.
Tip: Hold the sleeve flap in place with one hand while inserting the tool to keep the sleeve from slipping inside the vehicle.
