Why ideniKey is a Game Changer
For over a year, our team has been working tirelessly on ideniKey. Now, we're excited to finally share a sneak peek of this innovative app with you. Here’s what makes ideniKey a must-have tool for every locksmith:
Instant Identification: Just snap a photo of each side of the key, and ideniKey will provide you with the part number.
Comprehensive Database: No more guessing which manufacturer made the key or finding similar keys. All the information is available in the app.
Convenience: Use the device you already own – your smartphone – to identify keys on the go.
How to Use ideniKey
Let’s walk through a quick demo to show you how simple it is to use ideniKey:
Open the App: Launch the ideniKey app on your smartphone.
Take Photos:
Position your phone about a foot away from the key.
Pinch and zoom in to fill about half the screen with the key image.
Take a photo of one side, then flip the key and take a photo of the other side.
Identify the Key: The app processes the images and identifies the key blank.
Example Demonstrations
Double-Sided Toyota Key
Open the app and take a photo of one side of the key.
Flip the key and take a photo of the other side.
The app identifies it as a TR37.
Single-Sided Mailbox Key
Keep the key on the key ring and take a photo.
Adjust the camera angle to get a clear shot.
Flip the key, take another photo, and the app identifies it as an NA14.

In 2004, PJ Slauson (then only 19 years old) was working as a locksmith for his dad’s locksmith company and going to college. His dad had a little DBA side business selling locksmith supplies to locals. He had a few shelves in the back of his key shop with some keychains and padlocks which PJ started selling online to make a little extra money. He quickly sold out, eventually PJ decided to setup his own website, and clksupplies.com took off immediately.
