However, sometimes you may not have the right one on hand or you may want to cut down on your inventory. Fortunately, changing the handing on a deadbolt is a quick and easy process that can be done with just a Phillips screwdriver.

Here's a step by step guide:

Step 1: Gather your tools. The only tool you will need for this process is a Phillips screwdriver.

Step 2: Remove the deadbolt. Start by removing the screw on the inside of the door with your screwdriver. Once this is done, gently pull the latch out and set it aside.

Step 3: Remove the spring. Take out the bottom piece of the latch and set it aside. Keep your thumb on the back of the latch as you pull it out to prevent the spring from falling out.

Step 4: Flip the latch. Take the pin out of the latch and flip it over to the other side. Replace the pin and make sure the spring is in the correct position.
