On a Silca Swift Plus High-Security Duplicator, there is a quick way to either change out the tracer and the cutter or calibrate the cutter and tracer to ensure that the depths are aligned.
Prepare the materials like the calibration templates as well as the Allen wrench that came with the machine. Start grabbing the calibration templates, and you'll observe that there's an engraved letter on each, R & L, install R to right and L to the left. There is no need to align them to any particular tip stop. Get them and put them in here.
Once you do that, push the carriage backward, and using the Allen wrench, loosen the cutter and the tracer.
At this point, you can take the cutter/tracer out to replace it.
Next is to put them back, but a bit lower this time. Bring the carriage forward and align them on the guide. As you can see, they're just going to self-align because they're loose. Now, while holding the cutter and tracer down, tighten them both with the Allen wrench.
Once done, gently release it up. And there you go with an excellent and calibrated machine, ready to start cutting some keys. Thanks, and we'll see you next time.
