When it comes to marketing your business, it is so easy to be like everyone else. But the truth is we should always try to be more authentic to who we are and be weird, just like Stinger. The Stinger is finally done, and we want to give you a tour.
BACKGROUND
PJ: Before we get a tour, here's a refresher to explain 'why you chose to do this?'
Pete: Well, as a kid, I had one of these - it was my first car. And I said I'd be cool to get one of these and just put the company's name on it because they're unusual. Nobody sees them. And so I searched and searched for 20 years to find one in good shape.
PJ: Yeah
Pete: You can find them all over the internet, but they're all beat up. So I finally found one, and so I bought it. When I was at the repair shop, everybody who saw it went, "Man, that thing is cool!" You know?
PJ: Yeah.
Pete: I get looks, waves, and honks driving down the road.
PJ: Yeah.
Pete: Even coming over here to film this today.
PJ: Yeah. So is it one of those things you bought because it looks different? It's weird looking.
Pete: Right, you get attention, and I want that attention for the business.
PJ: Yeah. Back then, we've actually talked about some of the different weird, kind of guerilla-style marketing stuff that you've done or do, and this is really just an extension. If you don't know what I'm talking about. I'll put a link in the notes below. You guys can check that out, but it is weird and different to drive around, but you've set it up to have work done in it.
Pete: Right, we do lockouts, and we can cut keys, just real limited, rekey locks. But yeah, it's more for show and parades, and you know, drive around for advertisement. Go between the stores for deliveries.
PJ: Yeah, have them, have a little fun, and fulfill a childhood dream.
Pete: That's it.
PJ: Right.
Pete: Big boys' toy.
PJ: Yeah. Well, good stuff. Well, I'll let you give us a tour.
BACK OF THE STINGER
Pete: Okay, cool. We'll open up the back and take a look. Of course, when I'm driving, I push all this together, so it doesn't fall apart, but I have the old Flash mobile, and I have some keys over here, minimal, more house keys than anything. I have the old gun case where I keep many lockout tools. Getting kits back there, I pull over and push this stuff out of the way. I got some more lockout tools in here, the Flash above, open it up when I rekey in, and I have miscellaneous tools to do what we need to do, the whole basic service limited type system. Like I say, it's more for advertisement, parades but when we need...there we got the power. So it's fantastic; I love it, so that's about it! My LAB 3000 kit; it's fiberglass. I don't want to put anything up or drill in it, but it does the job other than that.
FRONT OF THE STINGER
Okay, well. We got a pretty much set up, got the stereo in here, got it Ryan Well, got everything. It's pretty nice. George is driving it, keeps going down the road goes about top 40. It's just a George tootle around in.
PJ: Well, I have to say, I think it turned out good.
Pete: Yeah, I agree. It turned out good.
PJ: Now there's only one last thing to do, and that's for me to drive it again.
Pete: Go for it.
PJ: All right. Let's do it.
