The main difference between a 6 pin and a 7 pin SFIC (Small Format Interchangeable Core) is the number of pin chambers inside the core: a 6 pin SFIC has six chambers for pins, while a 7 pin SFIC has seven. The extra pin in a 7 pin core allows for more possible key combinations, which can increase security.
