Schlage and Kwikset locks are not directly interchangeable because they use different keyways and internal mechanisms. Their lock cylinders and keys are shaped differently, so you cannot use a Kwikset key in a Schlage lock or vice versa. However, some aftermarket products and smart locks are designed to be compatible with both brands’ door preparations.
