You can usually tell if a key is Kwikset or Schlage by looking at the shape of the key and the keyway. Kwikset keys have a rounded, almost oval-shaped head and a single, rectangular hole, while Schlage keys typically have a more squared-off head with a small, circular hole; also, their keyways are different shapes (Kwikset is more rectangular, Schlage is more “C” shaped). Additionally, some keys have the brand name stamped on the head.
